Boys ‘spooky’ birthday cupcakes

These cupcakes went along with a wedding cake I made this week. The bride’s nephew turned 8 on the same day. His aunty (the bride) always makes his birthday cakes, and being a kid, he apparently doesn’t forget much, and reminded her that she had promised him a Haunted House birthday cake this year. Well she had prior arrangements (ie her wedding!) so asked that I make some spooky cupcakes for him and the 11 other children at the wedding! These were inspired by a whole bunch of Halloween cupcakes I’ve seen.

Pics of the wedding cake will hopefully be coming soon. It was basically just a blank canvas and was having fresh flowers added by a stylist after delivery, but the bride has kindly agreed to send me some professional pics of the completed cake soon!

Shabby Chic Wedding Cupcakes

These are two cupcakes for the parents of wedding planner Helen Noye of Zenith Events. Her mum and dad are going to a bring your own cupcake wedding. It’s a new one on me, but I hope the bride and groom like them!

I’ve gone for a shabby chic feel, with a dusky rose coloured lace effect butterfly and roses on a layer of shimmery blue fondent. The cupcakes are decorated in the bride and grooms initials.
